Shadegan Exports 13,000 Tons of Dates Annually

TEHRAN -- Shadegan, a city in Khuzestan Province, exports more than 13,000 tons of dates annually.
Mr. Nisi, the manager of the Agriculture Jihad office of Shadegan, said that the city's dates are mainly exported to the littoral states of the Persian Gulf, Canada, and Britain.
He added that the city possesses 9,000 hectares of different types of palm groves, including Esta'emeran, Khazravi, Zahedi, Degal, and Berim palm groves.
He said that the city has 31 packaging workshops and that eleven are packaging dates while the remainder are closed.
